Clean water for Iraq and Kuwait
ALLDOS is on the spot even in troubled times
In spite of the unpredictable and dangerous situation after the war in Iraq, ALLDOS has continuously ensured that Iraq’s long-suffering people have clean and healthy water. ALLDOS has been given the task of restoring the drinking water supply in the regions of Basra, Al Najaf, Al Hillah and central Iraq, including Baghdad.
The risk of terrorist attacks on the one hand and the pressing need for drinking water on the other represented a huge challenge for the ALLDOS team. After all, the complete fully automatic systems consisting of evaporators, 70 chlorine gas systems (GS 140 systems from 2 to 70 kg/h), measuring and control technology, DMX model 221 flocculent dosing pumps, control cabinets and additional equipment had to be pre-assembled at ALLDOS in Germany and shipped to Iraq, ready to use, in just 8 weeks.
ALLDOS was awarded the Euro 1.7 million project because of its decades of experience with complex drinking water treatment systems and turnkey projects in Iraq and other countries and regions where temperatures of over 50°C are common.
ALLDOS also carried out the Euro 0.5 million Sulaybia project in Kuwait. Here too, for over 25 years, ALLDOS has been established as a reliable partner when it comes to large-scale projects with the full range of services.
In this particular case, the project involved a chlorine adding station at a waste water treatment plant. The plant uses complex membrane technology with ultrafiltration and downstream reverse osmosis. The task facing ALLDOS was to install a fully automatic chlorine gas system to reliably clean the membranes in fixed cycles. In addition to a comprehensive range of equipment, the scope of supply also included two evaporators and four large GS 147 chlorine systems, designed for a throughput of up to 200 kg/h each.
Both the Iraq project and the Sulaybia plant also included PLC and touch-down control panels and the associated compact measuring and control systems for chlorine (with pH measurement).
